(Mosel, Germany)
A stunning reserve bottling 'Sekt' from arguably the finest region in the world for Riesling, the Mosel valley in Germany. This is a special release that has spent 99 months aging on the lees, resulting in a gorgeous balance and incomparable texture. It also makes use of an old 1999 Auslese as it's liqueur d'expedition. Very enticing Riesling aromatics of lime zest, stone fruits, and honey, a perfect balance of fruit and minerality with prominent but smooth bubbles.
Made by Jan Klein, the latest generation at the helm on this historical estate which has been in the family since 1805, but operating as a winery since 862, making it one of the oldest business on the historical record. Jan began with classic Rieslings, but started to produce a special range of wines with no added sulphites in 2014. He continues to push boundaries year after year, undertaking significant future proofing projects such as his newer PIWI plantings.
