Nibiru - 2021 Amphibolit Riesling

100% Riesling

This wine is named after the soils that the vines are grown in, which is made up of decomposed primary rock, giving the wine a particularly good tension, with bold stone fruit and a charming herbal component . This is riesling in a mature form, as the grapes contained 5% botrytis, adding layers of complexity and a hint of sweetness. 

Nibiru is currently the ambitious and groundbreaking project from Josef Schenter, located in the most northern part of the Kamptal region in Austria. Josef now farms and vinifies 16 hectares’s worth of grapes, and continues to tweak and refine his natural farming practices and winemaking methods.
