100% Romorantin. The Porte Dorée uses the best grapes from the vineyards oldest vines, up to 60 years old, planted on soils of silty clay over limestone. On the nose it has delicious notes of tarte tatin and baked apple, orchard stone fruit on the palate, and a tamed oxidative quality of straw bales.
Made by Philippe Tessier, who took over the family estate in 1981, continuing the work of his father, Roger Tessier, who founded Domaine Tessier in 1961. Located in the heart of the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny AOCs, the estate spans 23 hectares of organically farmed vineyards. Philippe focuses on producing wines that authentically express the terroir, utilizing sustainable practices and minimal intervention to craft wines that are both expressive and true to their origins.
