Lectores Vini

Catalunya, Spain

Lectores Vini is the collaborative project between long time friends Fredi Torres and Marc Lecha. Though they own as well as lease a couple of parcels in the Priorat appellation in Spain, a majority of their grapes are purchased from organic growers across the regions of Montsant, Priorat, and Conca de Barbera.

It is across a couple of rented cellars in both Priorat and Conca de Barbera that they craft wines of ultimate purity with total respect for the fruit. Always true to place though with perhaps a lighter touch and a big emphasis on freshness.

Fredi Torres was born to a farming and fishing family in Galicia, though he spent much of his childhood in Switzerland, where he later worked for Nike and then spent most of his late teens and early 20s touring full time as a DJ in the European house music scene. At the young age of 24, however, the world of wine came knocking and he embarked on a learning journey that took him to Argentina and South Africa before settling in his Gratallops, Priorat. Along with Lectores Vini, Fredi is also a part of Silice Viticultores in Ribeira Sacra (Galicia), and Le Cartel in Languedoc, France.

Though Marc Lecha is involved in another line of work, for many years he has collaborated with various winemakers across Spain for his own ‘Encuentros’ project, a series of micro-vinifications that form a series of yearly collaborations.
