Spring in La Palma

by nic

The small island of La Palma in the Canaries is one of my favourite destinations in the world. The 10 days I spent there during the harvest of 2018 helping Victoria Torres Pecis stand out as some of the most memorable in my life. The beauty of the island is in its untamed nature – wild and dramatic landscapes, dizzying elevation gains and drops, enchanted forests, clear dark waters, and raw volcanic energy. Not to mention the unique nature of a visit to Victoria, one of most singular winemakers I have met and someone I am lucky to call a dear friend.

I have had the pleasure of visiting the island during most seasons of the year, and whilst they are all incredibly special, there is something about spring that really makes the Island sing. The diversity of flora on the island is unmatched and incredibly beautiful. The below photos are from our last visit in May 2025, and were taken by our dear friend and amazing photographer Jason Lowe (jasonlowe.eu)
